Even if you’re a Twitter pro, you might not have #TwitterChats on your list of resources. It’s another great way to stay on top of our rapidly changing industry, connect with new people, learn from influencers, and find out what the latest trends are. Also? They’re fun, lively, and include lots of GIFs.
So what is a Twitter chat? According to Forbes, a tweet chat is a live Twitter event, usually moderated and focused around a general topic. To filter all the chatter on Twitter into a single conversation a hashtag is used. A set time is also established so that the moderator, guest or host is available to engage in the conversation.
How they work: Simply sign in to Twitter and put the hashtag (#Nextchat, for example) in the search box at the top. Choose “latest” and get ready for the questions!
The typical model is as follows: The moderator poses a question (Q1) with the chat hashtag. It shows up in your hashtag feed. You answer by tweeting (if you’re in hashtag feed, hashtag is automatically added to your tweet) and lead with A1 (answer 1). Q2 gets A2 responses, and so on. You can also retweet, retweet with comment, like and respond to other participants. It’s easier than it sounds; see the example screenshots below

The “EB” stands for employer branding, something we’d all like to learn more about. See what other companies are doing, ask questions, or just grab the popcorn and sit back and watch the feed.
