What is your background and how did it bring you to Talroo?

My time at Talroo started as an analyst, and I worked my way up to Director of Client Services by ensuring that we are providing world-class service and are using data to keep our clients informed.

What do you most want to accomplish as Director of Client Services at Talroo?

I most want to provide solutions that matter. I want the data we provide to make a difference for our clients so they can make more informed decisions.

Who inspires you?

My parents. They both had humble beginnings and have created a good life for themselves though working hard, but never forgetting to share a laugh with the people they love.

What do you think is the most important piece of information for hiring managers/recruiters to know right now?

Understand what skills can be taught and the overall expectations of the role you are trying to fill. At Talroo, we find a lot of great talent that might not meet all the experience required to fill the role. However, we also know there is a ton of skills a company can train if we find them the right candidate.

What is one helpful piece of advice someone has given you about your own career?

Be conscious of your role and where it can take you. You may start somewhere that isn’t exactly where you want to be, but it can be a stepping stone to get where you want to go. As long as you are gaining the experience you want and need then you are still moving forward. Thanks, Mom. 

What is the last book you read?

Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah.

How would you like to see the TA industry change or improve?
Data. Data. Data. The more that companies use data as a tool, the more the industry itself will become much better at making informed decisions.
Who/what would be your spirit animal?

English Bulldog–feed me, massage my belly, and let me sleep.

What do you think is the most important piece of information for job candidates to know right now?

Take a deep breath and be patient. This is a lot easier said than done, but it takes time to find the right employer. The amount of time you spend looking for that dream job is not indicative of your worth. The right job/career is out there, you just need to take the time to find it.

If you were a crayon, what color would you be?

Dark purple – it's my favorite color. Simple as that.

What would be the title of your autobiography?

Every Step Forward is an Improvement.

What do you like best about working at Talroo?

Easy  the people! Our team is extremely driven and passionate about what we do. It’s a tangible feeling when we as a whole are doing well. People truly want to continue to improve and grow.

What is your favorite drink and snack in the Talroo kitchen?

Tea – I drink too much of it.

What are you most passionate about in talent acquisition?

Technology & data. Right now, the industry is evolving to meet new market needs. These two components seem to be driving the industry and it's awesome that that is what Talroo has shifted its focus to.

What would be your perfect Saturday?

Did I mention I like to sleep?
