Today we are introducing you to Cindy Songne, a 25-year recruitment industry veteran and our VP of Talent Attraction Solutions. In her role at Talroo, Cindy leads the Sales and Service teams to provide clients with the solutions they need to recruit more effectively.
What is your background and how did it bring you to Talroo?
My entire career has been in the talent acquisition industry, from full cycle search to media to a recruitment ad agency and now, talent acquisition technology. I’ve stayed active in industry associations to continue to learn and grow.
What do you most want to accomplish as VP of Talent Attraction Solutions at Talroo?
At Talroo, I serve as the officer responsible for all revenue streams. I have the privilege of leading a very driven sales and service leadership team in breaking records as we achieve our shared strategic vision.
Who inspires you?
My husband, John, inspires and challenges me to always go further than I think I can go and do more than I believe I can accomplish.
What do you think is the most important piece of information for hiring managers/recruiters to know right now?
1. Optimize your employee referral program. 2. Respond to every candidate who applies to your company. Build your own talent network with those applicants who aren’t right for you, right now.
What is your personal mission statement?
Be a leader that others want to follow.
What is one helpful piece of advice someone has given you about your own career?
1. There are three sides to every story – POV #1, POV #2, and the truth 2. Always remember from where you came. Practice humility. 3. Don’t wear the same pair of heels two days in a row.
How would you like to see the TA industry change or improve?
I would love the abolishment of buzz words! Enough with the shiny objects already!
Who/what would be your spirit animal?
My bloodhound, Bowie, is definitely my sprit animal…and my soulmate.
What do you think is the most important piece of information for job candidates to know right now?
Don’t limit yourself to online applications. For most companies, referrals are their #1 source of hire. Don’t be shy about asking your network to help in your search.

What recent developments in talent acquisition excite you?
When it comes to recruitment marketing, I’m very happy that employers finally see that candidates are consumers and that by adopting traditional advertising practices, employers are able to reach the right candidates at the right time. It’s a win-win for both employers and candidates. Employers get more out of their recruitment budgets and the candidate experience is significantly improved.
What would be the title of your autobiography?
My Life with the Krilldo (it wouldn’t be about my career, but about my life with my husband and our four sons.)
What do you like best about working at Talroo?
This is the first time since 2000 that I’ve worked in a physical office (not a home office). Call me crazy, but the best thing for me is going into the office every day and collaborating with my co-workers face to face.
What is your favorite drink and snack in the Talroo kitchen?
For drinks in the fridge, I usually just go for water. Oh, and I won’t turn down the Chameleon cold brew coffee. As for the snacks, I love the new chocolate keto bars.
What would be your perfect Saturday?
Jet skiing on the ocean with my boys, then a bonfire at night with lots of food and drink where we would share the stories of the day.
