What is your background and how did it bring you to Talroo?
I have 15 plus years of experience in the human resources/talent attraction space. I started my career on the advertising agency side of the business, supporting customers' recruitment advertising and communication initiatives. I have also worked on the media side for many years supporting the agency channel. The Agency Relationship Manager position at Talroo was a natural fit for me.
Who inspires you?
My children inspire me to be the best person I can be. I try to make them proud of their mom every day.
Do you have a personal mission statement?
My favorite poem of all time is “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost. The ending always resonated with me and is my personal mission statement, “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I – I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” I think it’s important to choose your own path and make your own way in life, not to follow others.
What do you think is the most important piece of information for hiring managers/recruiters to know right now?
I think it’s important to focus on efficiency and diversifying your strategy for recruiting talent. With technology advancements, organizations have the opportunity to be more predictive in their recruitment marketing strategies. At Talroo, our talent attraction platform truly offers a unique way to reach a diverse audience of qualified applicants.
What is one helpful piece of advice someone has given you about your own career?
A piece of helpful advice that was shared with me years ago was to take a step back in a business situation that may not go my way and to not be reactive. I try to remain even keeled and take a pause to review an issue and have a methodical approach to resolve the problem. This has carried me well through challenging situations both personally and professionally.
Who would be your spirit animal?
My dog Jack would be my spirit animal. I adopted him 12 years ago after seeing him on a tv show promoting animal adoption. He is the sweetest pup.
What do you like best about working at Talroo?
Hands down, I enjoy the culture and the people. There is a certain energy in the office and a true team environment which makes Talroo such a fun place to work. Everyone on the team is passionate about what they do and are driven to succeed.
What would be your perfect Saturday?
Being out on the Great South Bay on Long Island with my family. We love to be out on the water enjoying the sunshine.
What recent developments in talent acquisition excite you?
The continuous focus on innovation excites me. Since I started in the recruitment communications industry, where print was the main source to recruit talent, technology advancements have significantly improved the talent attraction space. It’s now about utilizing best of breed technology to find the right candidates to drive greater efficiency and qualified pipeline.
